Leçon trois

Same as last night, I had another full day at school. It’s good to test if the rap song has actually helped. I revised the things I learnt last night on bus; the result is better than yesterday – I am able to memorize the whole song with correct pronunciations of words. Yeah~

Further revision of numbers was done and followed by French pronunciation rules. Remembering letters is one thing, but combined with one another forms is more difficult as there are lots of pronunciation symbols which sometimes may completely change the original sound(s).

For example:

  1. ‘^’ extends the syllable, placed on a,e,u,I, E.g. ^ame, ^etre, co^ut, ^ile
  2. ‘ç’, normal c[se] is replaced by [s], e.g. leçon
  3. The consonants at the end of words are usually ignored, e.g. vit -> [vi]. But the words with c,l,f,r are exceptional.
  4. E is also ignored at the end of words.

Today’s lesson ends with practice over vocabs from the vowels:a,i,e,m,l,n.
