Leçon deux

Ahh…busy busy day, finished school and internship training at 10:40pm, got home at midnight (my day started with a 9-thirty morning class). The reason that I’m writing this down is because it greatly affects my learning efficiency.

I did a revision of the French letters that I’ve learned yesterday, but the result is I forgot a few words that have a very different sound from English, for example, Y (should sound as ‘e-guy’). Also, I mixed up some words with English ones, such as U (should sound as ‘too’) and R (should sound like ‘air’). Therefore, tonight, I brought the video with the professor* back on to learn the letters again.

My ability to memorize is definitely affected by my low-energy-status, I needed something more powerful – a rap song.

I memorized the letters after repeating the A-Z cycle 8 times. Hmm…much better!!

With this trial, I think my inefficiency tonight has another reason besides lack of energy. It’s the collision of existed memories that messed up my memories of English ABC song with French ABC. The rap song provided an easier rhythm and melody for memorizing. That’s why I could do it faster than before.

After I’ve finished with the alphabets, I turned my attention to French numbers and respective rules of pronunciation.

The numbers are easy to learn, but requires memorizing. I will make a print out of the numbers and bring them school to read.
